Iran is considering the possibility of striking American military facilities in Europe if US President Donald Trump further escalates the conflict. The Financial Times reported this.

According to two sources close to Iran's leadership, Tehran has assessed certain facilities in Southeastern Europe as potential targets. These include facilities in Bulgaria and Cyprus used by US and Western military forces.

The sources emphasized that Iran's next actions will depend on Washington's decisions. If the US intensifies military actions, Tehran may consider expanding the geographical scope of its response measures.

Meanwhile, negotiations between the US and Iran are still proceeding cautiously. Donald Trump said on August 18 that no talks with Iran are planned for now.

Trump also announced that "unprecedented" economic measures would be taken against states and organizations that support Iran. He stated that Washington would increase economic pressure on Tehran.
