A 25-year-old young man left home after noon to graze his sheep and died as a result of a strong mudflow.
In Kashkadarya region, a mudflow claimed a human life. This was reported to Kun.uz by the press secretary of the Prosecutor General, Hayot Shamsutdinov.
According to reports, on May 19 at around 20:20, a report was received by the duty unit of the Dehqonobod District Internal Affairs Department that an unidentified man's body was carried by a mudflow from a river in the area of Qurilish village, Yangi Hayot mahalla. Subsequently, an investigation-operational group led by the district prosecutor arrived at the scene.
During the pre-investigation check, it was determined that the deceased was O.Sh., born in 2001.
According to the relatives of the deceased, he left home around 15:00 on May 19 to graze his sheep. By 18:00, when he had not returned, heavy rain fell in the village area and a mudflow occurred. After some time, the young man's body was found in the water flow.
Currently, pre-investigation checks are being carried out by the Dehqonobod District Prosecutor's Office regarding the incident.
According to the information service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, on May 19, heavy rainfall was observed in the Qamashi, Yakkabog, Dehqonobod, and Shahrisabz districts of Kashkadarya region. As a result of mudflows, an internal road in Qamashi district and a bridge in Yakkabog district were temporarily closed.
