A boy died after being electrocuted by a transformer in Namangan.

Following this, the Children's Ombudsman issued an official statement.

It is reported that a child climbed onto a high-voltage transformer to eat cherries and was electrocuted. As a result, he sustained severe injuries and died despite the doctors' efforts.

The relatives of the deceased stated that the area around the transformer did not meet safety requirements. According to them, the area was not fenced off, and some wires were left exposed.

The Children's Ombudsman emphasized the need to strengthen oversight of the safety of electrical equipment in all regions.

Currently, an investigation into this incident is being conducted by the prosecutor's office.
