In the city of Fergana, a woman who beat her spouse was charged with domestic violence and brought to criminal responsibility. The court imposed a fine on her.
According to court documents, M.A., born in 1999, on February 20, 2026, had a quarrel with her spouse M.S. due to a family dispute. During the quarrel, the woman raised her hand against her husband and caused him bodily injury.
In court, the woman pleaded guilty. According to her, on February 18, a disagreement arose between the spouses when she went outside to take their children for a walk.
"I said we should go to the Palace of Arts, while my spouse said we should go to the shopping complex. We quarreled because of this. Then I got scared and went to my father's house," she said.
Two days later, the woman returned to her spouse's house, and the quarrel resumed.
"When he tried to hit me, I pushed him away with my hand in self-defense. Now I realize that my actions were wrong," said M.A.
The male victim, however, stated in court that he would not forgive his wife and asked for legal measures to be taken against her.
The Fergana City Criminal Court found M.A. guilty of the crime of domestic violence as stipulated in Part 2 of Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code.
According to the court verdict, the woman was fined 20 times the base calculation amount — 8 million 240 thousand soums.
Additionally, the victim was informed of his right to file a civil lawsuit to recover material and moral damages.
