The government of Uzbekistan has decided to introduce a special tax regime for foreign citizens. The document regarding this was published on the Lex.uz website.
According to the new procedure, foreign citizens will pay a fee of 50,000 US dollars for the special tax regime. Additionally, they are required to open a bank account in Uzbekistan or have a wallet on a licensed crypto exchange.
If the conditions are met, their income earned outside Uzbekistan will be exempt from income tax. An additional payment of 10,000 dollars is set for each adult close relative.
At the same time, according to Decree PF-180, individuals who stay in Uzbekistan for more than 30 days in a 12-month period and have a place of residence will be recognized as tax residents.
