The relevant intergovernmental agreement was signed on May 15 in Astana at a meeting of the TRASECA Intergovernmental Commission. According to it, a single transit permit form will be introduced in the territory of five countries.
Under the new procedure, transit movement for cargo carriers across the territory of five countries will be organized using a single form. This is expected to reduce excess paperwork and ease administrative barriers at borders.
Within the framework of the meeting, Jasurbek Choriev, Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, was elected to the post of Secretary General of the TRASECA organization.
Furthermore, the Uzbek side put forward proposals on digitalization of transport systems, introduction of “paperless transit”, and improvement of the regulatory and legal framework in line with international standards.
