According to the Kremlin, the visit is being organized on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation.
Putin and Chinese leader Xi Jinping will discuss bilateral relations, deepening strategic cooperation, as well as international and regional issues.
Following the talks, a joint statement and a number of bilateral documents are expected to be signed.
Putin will also meet with Chinese Premier Li Qiang to discuss trade and economic cooperation issues.
