A road traffic accident involving two trucks occurred in the Pakhtachi district of Samarkand region.

The incident occurred on the morning of May 16 on the section of the M-37 "Samarkand–Bukhara–Turkmenbashi" highway passing through the Pakhtachi district.

According to preliminary data, the driver of a FAW-branded truck fell asleep while driving and lost control. As a result, he collided with a Sinotruk Howo truck parked on the roadside, and then crashed into another truck.

Following the accident, a fire broke out in some parts of the vehicles. The fire was extinguished by firefighters in a short time.

There were no injured or deceased as a result of the incident. An investigation is currently underway regarding the situation.

Authorities urged drivers not to get behind the wheel while tired and to follow traffic rules.
