President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the 13th session of the World Urbanization Forum, held in Baku under the auspices of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme.
At the Baku Congress Center, the head of state was welcomed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, Anacláudia Rossbach.
Afterwards, a joint photo session of the participants took place.
This year's forum is dedicated to the theme "Housing for All: Safe and Sustainable Cities and Communities." It is attended by heads of state and government, representatives of international organizations, and development institutions.
The agenda of the event includes issues such as sustainable urban development, providing the population with modern and affordable housing, improving the quality of the urban environment, strengthening climate resilience, and developing social and transport infrastructure.
