In Tashkent, 32 "couriers" were detained in 10 days.

According to the Criminal Code, a sentence of up to 20 years of deprivation of freedom can be imposed for this crime.

From September 20 to October 20, a month-long campaign against the illegal circulation of drugs and psychotropic substances is being held in the city of Tashkent, during which 32 “couriers” were detained.

Drugs and psychotropic substances were found with them and at their hiding places, officially documented in the presence of witnesses.  

Investigations have been initiated on all cases by the Investigation Department under Article 273 part 5 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (“Illegal preparation, acquisition, storage, and other actions with the intent of trafficking drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances, as well as their illegal trafficking”), and suspects have been detained as a precaution, with investigatory actions ongoing.

According to Article 273 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a person convicted of this crime may be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison.
