The interim government of the “Taliban” in Afghanistan expressed hope for the opening of a “new chapter” between Kabul and Washington after the transition of power to the new administration following Donald Trump's election victory. This was reported today, on November 6, by relying on the interim government's Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Abdul Qahar Balkhi, “Ariana news” reported.
According to the statement, the ministry hopes that with Donald Trump as President, the US government will take real steps towards achieving its goals and that there will be significant progress in the relations between Kabul and Washington in the future.
Balkhi also stated that the “Taliban” hopes to start a new phase in the mutual relations between the two countries based on mutual relations. Additionally, he noted that the Doha agreement between Afghanistan and the US was signed during Donald Trump's presidency, after which the 20-year occupation in Afghanistan ended.
“The Taliban hopes that Trump will play a constructive role in ending the current wars in the region and the world, particularly the conflicts in Gaza and Lebanon,” the report says.
