In Brazil, at the FIDE World Championship for juniors under 16 years old among girls, our athlete Afrouza Hamdamova became the champion ahead of time. The Deputy Minister of Sports, Shahriyo Makhmudov, and the First Deputy Chairman of the Chess Federation, Alisher Sa'dullaev, participated in the solemn welcoming ceremony.

Afrouza scored 9.5 points in 10 rounds (9 wins, 1 draw), and it was clear that regardless of the results in the last round, none of her competitors could catch up with her.

Last year at the FIDE World Championship among girls under 14 years old, Afrouza also secured an early victory and became the first female chess champion from Uzbekistan.

Our 15-year-old compatriot has now become a two-time world champion.
