Uzbek taekwondo athlete Ulugbek Rashitov has been found guilty of violating anti-doping rules. The International Doping Testing Agency (ITA) issued an official statement regarding this matter.

It was noted that the athlete provided incorrect information about his whereabouts three times within the last 12 months. This action is considered equivalent to evading testing under anti-doping rules and is classified as a serious violation.

 

Rashitov's suspension period has been set from May 13, 2025, to May 12, 2027.

 

For reference, Ulugbek Rashitov won a gold medal in the 68 kg weight category at the Tokyo-2020 and Paris-2024 Olympic Games. He is also an Asian Games and Asian Championship champion, as well as a world championship medalist.

 

Rashitov has made history as the first athlete to become a two-time Olympic champion in men's taekwondo.
