On June 28, during the international negotiations held in Sochi, Russia, Uzbek sports activist Laziz Hasanov was appointed as the Vice President of the BRICS International Alliance of Strategic Projects Sports Center.

Through this appointment, Hasanov also became the official representative of this center in Uzbekistan. The international sports community evaluated this decision as high recognition of his years of dedication and efforts in developing national sports.

For reference, Taekwon-Do ITF will be included in the official program of the BRICS Games starting from 2025. This will be the first time this sport is expected to participate in a major international platform like BRICS.

Uzbek Taekwon-Do ITF athletes will participate for the first time in the next BRICS Games to be held in Sochi in 2026. This is noted as an important step not only for the athletes but also for the country's sports sector.
