Uzbek footballer Eldor Shomurodov from Italy's "Roma" club has transferred to Turkey's "Istanbul Başakşehir" club. The Turkish club's press service announced this.

It is noted that Shomurodov moved to "Istanbul Başakşehir" on loan for 3 million euros with an option to buy for 2.7 million euros. Eldor Shomurodov signed a 1+1 contract with "Istanbul Başakşehir".

For reference, the loan period is set until the end of the 2025-2026 season, with the possibility of fully purchasing the player's rights.

Blogger Khushnudbek Khudoyberdiev explained on his social media page why Eldor Shomurodov left "Roma".

"Eldor Shomurodov has moved to Turkey's 'Başakşehir' team. It's better for us that he has regular playing practice rather than mostly staying on the bench at 'Roma'. Good luck to him!", he writes.

For reference, Eldor Shomurodov, captain of Uzbekistan's national football team, had been the top scorer at the national team level for 9 months in 2022. The forward scored 9 goals for Uzbekistan's national team during this period.
