Japan's capital, Tokyo, will introduce a four-day work week to allocate time for family and increase the birth rate.

This allows employees to not only work four days a week but also to take partial leave for childcare.

"We are adapting the work system so that women do not have to sacrifice their careers for having children or rearing children," said Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike.

This new system will be implemented starting from April 2025.
