Ambassadors of New Zealand and Venezuela were appointed in Uzbekistan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov, received letters of credence from new ambassadors.

Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov today received Mark Julian Trainor, the newly appointed Ambassador of New Zealand to our country, reports a correspondent from "Dunyo" AA.

"We congratulate Mr. Mark Julian Trainor on his appointment as Ambassador of New Zealand to Uzbekistan, – wrote the head of the Uzbekistan MFA on his Telegram channel. – It is crucial for the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries to serve as a driving force in developing and implementing a comprehensive agenda of mutually beneficial cooperation. During the talks, we focused on sustainable agriculture, industrial development, green economy, cooperation among entrepreneurs, and other promising areas. We congratulate the Ambassador!"

Mark Julian Trainor was appointed in place of Sarah Mary Walsh, who served as the Ambassador of New Zealand to Uzbekistan for the years 2023-2024. Diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and New Zealand were established on March 11, 1992.

On February 1, 2019, Uzbekistan introduced a visa-free regime for 30 days for citizens of New Zealand.

Furthermore, today, Uzbekistan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov received Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, the Ambassador of Venezuela.

"We are pleased to meet today with Madam Rosalba Lo Bue Antico, Ambassador of Venezuela to Uzbekistan at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, – wrote the head of the Uzbekistan MFA on his Telegram channel. – Despite the geographical distance, we agreed to build bridges to bring our countries closer together. We discussed in detail new joint projects, assistance in inter-parliamentary cooperation, support for knowledge exchange, and other issues. Welcome to Uzbekistan, Madam Ambassador!"

It is worth mentioning that diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Venezuela were established on April 26, 1996.
