Nearly 40 vehicles collided on the Astana—Shuchinsk highway in Kazakhstan's Akmola region due to adverse weather conditions. This was reported by Tengrinews here.
According to the regional Department of Internal Affairs, the incident occurred around 13:30 between the Kogam and Karatal villages in the Birzhansal district. The near collision of about 40 vehicles was due to worsening weather conditions (storm, limited visibility). There is currently no information about the victims or injured.

Police and emergency services are working at the scene of the incident. Efforts are being made to evacuate the vehicles and ensure the safety of road traffic.
Emergency services had previously warned that weather conditions in the area could deteriorate. In connection with this, all drivers, especially those traveling outside the city, were advised not to drive.
Drivers are urged to consider weather conditions, be extremely cautious on the roads, and to avoid traveling in this direction until the situation improves, according to the Department of Internal Affairs report.
