Turkey's IC İçtaş İnşaat company intends to participate in the construction of toll roads in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Press Service of the Ministry of Economy and Finance it was reported.

It was informed, on January 15th, a meeting took place between Reha Denemeç, a member of the company's board of directors, and the Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov. The meeting was attended by Egemen Ilkin, the CEO for development of IC İçtaş İnşaat's construction business, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, Ilhomjon Umurzakov, the Deputy Minister of Transport Ilhomjon Abdugafarov, the Chairman of the Roads Committee Jamshid Tursunov, and other responsible representatives.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of improving transport infrastructure based on PPP (Public-Private Partnership) programs, in particular, the construction and modernization of roads. Discussions took place on Turkish company's projects concerning the construction of roads, bridges, and airports.

During the conversation, the Turkish company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Roads Committee aiming to build a new high-speed toll road from Samarkand to Bukhara.

Furthermore, the parties exchanged views on the main directions for developing PPP, its mechanisms, and the use of foreign experience in this field. At the end of the negotiations, it was agreed to carry out systematic activities to achieve the set goals.
