The Hamas movement will release three Israeli hostages by January 31, including the soldier Arbel Yehud. This was announced by the official spokesman of the Qatar Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Majid al-Ansari. According to him, several more captives will be released on February 1.

"As a result of ongoing efforts between the Hamas movement and mediators, an agreement was reached to release Arbel Yehud and two other captives by January 31,» wrote a representative of the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs on social media. Additionally, within the framework of agreements conducted with Hamas, Israel will allow the population of the Gaza sector to return to the northern part of the sector through the “Netrazim corridor”, he added.

Arbel Yehud's release was expected on January 25, but instead, Hamas released four female soldiers. According to the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel will not allow the civilian population to return to the northern sector until Miss Arbel Yehud is released.

The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas came into effect on January 19. On that day, Hamas released three captives, and the Israeli army began withdrawing its forces from the Gaza territory. The second round of the exchange operation between hostages and prisoners in Israeli jails and Hamas was conducted on January 26. On that day, Hamas released four soldiers, and 200 Palestinians were freed from Israeli prisons.
