President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on January 29th visited the construction works at the Center of Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and got acquainted with them.
This complex is an enormous and unique project that has never been seen before in our history. Today, the majestic building is standing tall, with construction in its final stage.
This center was initiated based on the decision of our President on June 23, 2017, and on the day of Ramadan holiday in 2018, our state leader laid the foundation stone.
The building of this splendid center consists of three floors, constructed in the style of our ancient architectural monuments. The wonderful harmony of national domes and facades, patterns have given it a special beauty and grandeur. Four facades of 34 meters in height and a central dome of 65 meters have been constructed.
The most essential part of the center will house the hall of the Holy Qur'an. It will place the spiritual gem of the Muslim world - the ancient Usman Quran. Also, copies of our sacred book written during the periods of the Samanids, Qarakhanids, Khorezmshahs, Uzbek Khan, Timurids, and other historical dynasties, and their translations into the old Uzbek language will be displayed. Samples of the world's most rare manuscript Qurans will also be featured.
– Many books, manuscripts scattered across various regions, unique information, and works of art related to the rich and unparalleled heritage of our people, unfortunately, were unknown to us. This center has enabled us to take significant steps in studying history and uncover new sources. What will be their impact and result? It is necessary not just to preserve them as memorials but to actively incorporate them into scientific use, make them understandable in a language accessible to our people, our youth, and widely promote them to the international community. This site must not only tell the story of the past but also connect history, today, and the future, defining the main directions of our development, - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
