At least 15 people were killed in a car bomb explosion in the city of Manbij in northern Syria. This was reported by Syria's official SANA agency, citing the "White Helmets" civil defense service. Out of those killed, 14 were women and 1 was a man, with another 15 women injured, some of them in critical condition. The explosion occurred on a main road outside the city of Manbij, near a vehicle transporting agricultural workers.

This is the second such incident in Manbij in recent days. Previously, on Saturday, the explosion of a car bomb planted in the city center resulted in the death of four civilians and injured nine others, including children.

On December 1, the Syrian Liberation Army, supported by Turkey, started the "Operation Freedom Spring." The aim was declared to restore security in northern Syria. Shortly after, the city of Manbij, which had been under the control of Kurdish formations, fell into the hands of new Syrian authorities' supporters. Prior to this, since 2016, Manbij had been controlled by the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the People's Protection Units (YPG), supported by the US. This area had been the last stronghold of the Kurds.
