The Trump administration is discussing the possibility of offering Iran $30 billion in aid in exchange for Tehran's commitment to abandon uranium enrichment and nuclear weapons development, CNN reports.

It is noted that these funds are planned to be financed not from the United States, but through Arab countries. The money is intended for the development of Iran's peaceful nuclear program.

According to a White House spokesman, “someone will pay for this program, but it won’t be us.”

Moreover, the Trump administration is offering to lift some sanctions against Iran, return $6 billion frozen in foreign banks, and replace the nuclear facility in Fordow with a new infrastructure that lacks the capability to enrich uranium.

Through this, Washington aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and to bring it back to the negotiation table following conflicts with Israel.

However, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has not yet responded positively to these offers.

According to Reuters, during armed conflicts with Israel, Araghchi and the U.S. president's special envoy Steve Whitkoff have had several phone conversations.
