The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the Amir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, held a narrow meeting and negotiations with the participation of official delegation members at the "Al-Bayan" palace in Al-Kuwait city on February 17. The President's press service reported this. 

At the beginning of the conversation, the leader of our state expressed gratitude for the sincere reception and high attention, and warmly congratulated the Kuwaiti leader and friendly Kuwaiti people on the upcoming national holidays.

Issues of further developing and strengthening the friendly and multifaceted partnership relations between Uzbekistan and Kuwait were discussed.

Our President particularly noted the "Vision 2035" state program, which is being successfully implemented in Kuwait and whose goals and tasks harmonize with the long-term priority directions of the New Uzbekistan development strategy.

The steady increase in political dialogue, inter-agency exchanges, mutual trade turnover, and volume of investments were noted with satisfaction.

The first meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission last year was effectively held, and a number of important business events were organized.

Special attention was paid to issues of cooperation in trade-economic, investment, innovative, and financial-technical fields.

"Green" energy, industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport and logistics, infrastructure, urban planning, healthcare, and tourism were identified as priority areas for practical cooperation.

An agreement was reached to establish mechanisms such as the Investment Platform and the Business Council to promote joint projects, as well as to open a trade house in the city of Al-Kuwait.

Within the new partnership program, particular attention was paid to expanding the project portfolio with the Kuwait Arab Economic Development Fund.

Furthermore, it was agreed to assist in conducting cultural and tourism weeks in Uzbekistan and Kuwait, and to facilitate the active participation of representatives of both countries in cultural and humanitarian events in the fields of arts, music, cinema, education, and sports.

The meeting highlighted the importance of continuing mutual support within the framework of the United Nations Organization, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Non-Aligned Movement, and other prestigious structures.

Preparations and joint measures for holding the "Central Asia - Gulf Cooperation Council" dialogue summit, which will take place in the city of Samarkand in May this year, were discussed.

The leaders exchanged views on urgent issues of international and regional significance as well.

At the end of the negotiations, the leaders of the two states decided to develop and strengthen the broad partnership.

At the conclusion of the negotiations, the President of Uzbekistan invited the Amir of Kuwait to visit our country.
