We reported about a man falling down the stairs and dying at the Askiya city residential construction site in Yakkasaroy district of Tashkent city. According to the Ministry of Construction, as announced, this construction was conducted illegally.
Specifically, it was discovered in May 2020 that the construction activities conducted at this object were against the relevant decision of the Cabinet of Ministers. That is, the works started without informing the Tashkent city Inspection for Supervision in the Construction and Housing and Communal Services sector and without being registered in the established order.
On May 27, 2020, the inspection issued a written instruction to stop the construction works. Administrative liability was imposed, and the construction and installation works were halted.
However, during a re-examination conducted on April 26, 2024, it was found that the works were continuing, and the construction officials were summoned. But they did not come to the construction site and did not provide the required documents.
Therefore, a report was officially registered with the participation of the local neighborhood preventive inspector, and the necessary inspection works were completed. The case has been submitted to the competent law enforcement agencies for legal assessment.
Today, a criminal case has been initiated by the investigation department of the Tashkent city MIA concerning this object. Additionally, all types of construction and installation works at the site have been stopped.
