An expanded meeting dedicated to the effectiveness of the efforts in preventing corruption and the priority tasks for the future is taking place under the chairmanship of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The President's press service reported this.
It is noted that special attention is being paid to reducing the human factor and paperwork first and foremost to eradicate corruption from its roots.
For example, in the process of allocating land to the population, citizens used to be run around between the mayor and nearly a dozen other agencies. Overall, this area had become a hotbed of corruption.
By completely abandoning the allocation of land through the mayor's decision and moving to an auction system, this system has become popular.
The construction sector was one of the most corrupted areas. After the implementation of the "Transparent Construction" program, positive changes are also being felt in this direction.
Previously, contractors involved in building objects included in the investment program were less than a thousand. Last year, more than 4,000 contractors participated in the construction of 13,500 objects. Due to the digitization of the sector, 3.6 trillion Uzbek soms of budget funds were saved over the past four years.
However, due to the increase in bureaucracy and law violations in granting construction permits and handing over buildings, focusing on fire safety, last week, the Minister of Emergency Situations and his deputies were dismissed.
