The capital of Georgia, the city of Tbilisi, successfully kicked off for the Uzbekistan national team at the international tournament “Tbilisi Grand Slam – 2025” which falls into the "Grand Slam" series in judo.
The first day of the competition, which has gathered 385 athletes from 52 countries, saw Azizbek Ortikov and Abdurahim Nutfulloev winning bronze medals in the -66 kg weight category competitions.
In the competition for this medal, Azizbek defeated Rashad Yelkiyev from Azerbaijan, while Abdurahim overcame Lasha Nadiradze, a representative of the hosts.
Today, on March 22, the following judokas will compete for medals:
-73 kg: Obidkhon Nomonov — Ahmadzoda Masudi (Tajikistan)/Andreou Kiprianos (Cyprus)
-81 kg: Sukhrob Tursunov — Erzhan Kanatbekov (Kyrgyz Republic)
-63 kg: Marzhona Nurulloeva — Aviti Alcaraz (Mexico)
-70 kg: Shirinjon Yuldasheva — Irene Pedrotti (Italy)
