On April 3, within the framework of the Samarkand summit, a meeting took place between the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov took place.

The leaders of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan noted with particular satisfaction the effectiveness of the tripartite meeting of the heads of state held in the city of Khujand on March 31, as well as the signing of a historic treaty concerning the joining point of the state borders.

Issues related to the implementation of high-level agreements, particularly accelerating key cooperation projects in the fields of industry, transport, energy, and infrastructure, were reviewed.

The heads of state emphasized the need to continue active regional communications and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

Discussions also took place regarding plans for upcoming events and other urgent issues of regional cooperation.
