A criminal case has been initiated under Article 173 of the Criminal Code in connection with the incident.

A video showing an unidentified person setting fire to a parked car in a parking lot had been circulating on social media. The Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs has officially responded to the incident.

According to the statement, on April 17 of this year, at approximately 11:40 PM, in one of the parking lots located in the Yalangoch neighborhood of Mirzo Ulugbek district, a citizen born in 1988, identified as M.J., set fire to a Tesla vehicle belonging to his acquaintance, N.K., born in 1983, due to a personal dispute.

Following his actions, M.J. was apprehended by officers of the Department of Internal Affairs.

"A criminal case has been initiated by the Investigation Department under the Mirzo Ulugbek District Police Department under Article 173 of the Criminal Code (‘Intentional destruction of property or causing damage to it’). The investigation is ongoing," the statement said.
