China Tests Non-Nuclear Hydrogen Bomb

According to Meduza, the bomb was tested without the use of any nuclear components. The device generated a fireball with a temperature exceeding 1,000 degrees Celsius, which lasted for more than two seconds—15 times longer than the blast of an equivalent amount of TNT.

The explosive device was developed by the 705th Research Institute, which operates under the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC). This institute plays a key role in the development of underwater weaponry.
