It was reported that a 26-year-old Uzbek woman who went to South Korea for work was found dead at her home. It became known that she had committed suicide. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this.
It is reported that regarding this incident, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul, from the day the incident occurred, has been holding meetings and cooperating with the South Korean law enforcement agencies with the aim of clarifying the circumstances of the woman's death and ensuring the investigation is conducted fairly.
To provide precise information about the ongoing investigation, the deceased's mother, Feruza Alimbekova, was invited to South Korea with the assistance of the embassy and the police of the relevant state.
On April 14 of this year, a meeting was held with the officials of the Pyeongtaek City Police, who are conducting the investigation into the incident, with the participation of the deceased's mother, her lawyer, and embassy staff.
During the meeting, representatives of the Korean police provided information about the death of the Uzbek citizen and the additional investigative measures taken regarding the details of this incident.
According to the Korean law enforcement agencies, based on the results of the initial investigation and examination conducted into the death of citizen Nozima Kim, no signs of murder were found in her death.
Furthermore, the Korean police showed the deceased's mother and her lawyer, as information, the sealed video recordings from cameras around the house where the deceased resided on the night of the incident, as well as from the hospital where Nozima first received emergency medical aid and the "Songmu" hospital in Pyeongtaek City.
During the meeting, the results of an in-depth examination conducted by the Korean National Forensic Service in Pyeongtaek City were also announced.
According to the results of this analysis, the death of citizen Nozima Kim was recorded based on a diagnosis of suicide. It was also reported that DNA, blood, and fingerprint analyses were conducted, and no toxic or narcotic substances were found in her body, nor were any bruises from severe external impacts on internal or external parts of her body detected.
Korean police officials stated that various photos circulating on social networks related to the deceased Nozima Kim were not obtained during the investigation process and that their distribution is prohibited under Korean law.
During the meeting, representatives of the Pyeongtaek City Police stated that the investigation process is currently ongoing and that information regarding its results will be provided to the deceased's relatives.
"This incident is under the supervision of our country's embassy, and the diplomatic mission continues to cooperate with the Korean police to clarify the circumstances of the deceased's death.
At the same time, the embassy calls on our citizens to respect the memory of our deceased compatriot and not to spread various unconfirmed, incorrect, and baseless information," the ministry's report states.
