A video showing a teenager beating his mother spread on social media went viral.

According to the Children's Ombudsman Surayo Rahmonova, the incident occurred on April 24 in the Davlatobod district of Namangan region. She reported that a domestic quarrel ensued between 38-year-old S.Sh. and her 14-year-old son R.A. due to household reasons (the family discarded the boy's broken mobile phone instead of repairing it), leading to the mother and son hitting each other.

When the woman's mother, the boy's grandmother, H.A., tried to stop the dispute, the boy also raised his hand against her. It was reported that appropriate measures are being taken by district officials concerning the boy's negative behavior.

“There is no insignificant aspect when it comes to child upbringing. A child’s behavior, his morals, reflect the character of the family members, especially the parents. Parents are responsible for the upbringing of their children, to be attentive in time to their interests and any negative changes in behavior to avoid such ugly situations,” said Surayo Rahmonova.
