Amazon has abandoned its plan to disclose customs duties on imported goods. This was reported by a source in Punchbowl News.
According to him, such an idea was discussed within the company, but it was not officially adopted and is not currently being implemented.
White House spokesperson Caroline Livitt assessed this potential move as "political and hostile action by Amazon" and accused the company's founder, Jeff Bezos, of collaborating with China.
Amazon representatives, however, confirmed that this idea had never been supported in practice and was discussed in relation to some products, but later the idea was abandoned altogether.
On April 29th of this year, Trump responded to the issue, stating, "Bezos is a very good person; he solved the problem quickly. He made the right decision. He's a good guy."
Earlier, the US President called Bezos personally to express his dissatisfaction with this issue.
