As a result of Indian airstrikes on Pakistan, 57 people were injured and 31 people died. The BBC reports this, citing the Pakistani army.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif previously called the Indian strikes a "disgusting aggression that will not go unpunished."
Army spokesman Ahmad Sharif Chaudri said that 57 people were wounded and 31 people died as a result of the Indian attack.
India said it had struck militant targets in response to an attack on tourists in Kashmir two weeks ago. Pakistani officials stated they had no connection to the attack, which resulted in the deaths of 26 people.
Pakistan responded with artillery fire and, according to Pakistani officials, shot down five Indian aircraft and one drone. However, the Indian government did not confirm this information.
On Wednesday evening, US President Donald Trump briefly commented on the tensions between India and Pakistan.
"I know both countries well. I want them to resolve this among themselves," he told reporters in the Oval Office.
Trump also stated that he wants to end the war between the two countries and is ready to help.
