Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is waiting to see who will participate on the Russian side in the talks in Turkey on May 15th. He announced this in his address following the results of the 1176th day of the war.
"While the world is waiting for a simple yes from Putin, he is again shelling Ukraine. There is no military benefit from this, it is nothing but prolonging the war," Zelenskyy said.
He said that the statements coming from Russia are not yet reliable.
"I'm waiting for who will come from Russia. Based on this, we will decide what steps Ukraine should take," he said.
Zelenskyy also mentioned the possibility of former US President Donald Trump's participation in the negotiations.
"This could be the strongest argument," he said.
Zelenskyy added: "Ukraine is not afraid of any meeting. We are ready for any form of negotiation. Tomorrow - in Turkey."
