The DXX Call Center received information from a citizen living in the Tashkent region about a regional internal affairs officer committing corrupt crimes by abusing his official powers.
Accordingly, a criminal case was initiated against the Ministry of Internal Affairs officer under Articles 210, 131, 135, 206, 207, and 165 of the Criminal Code. He allegedly demanded $20,000 from the relatives of a former internal affairs officer who is currently under investigation, promising to secure a lighter sentence through his acquaintances in the judicial authorities. On May 16 of this year, during an operation conducted in cooperation between the DXX and the Ministry of Internal Affairs rapid response units, an Internal Affairs officer was caught in the act of receiving $20,000 from citizen A.B., born in 1995. The DXX Press Service reported this.
In another case, on May 17 of this year, during an active operation conducted by law enforcement agencies, an internal affairs officer from the Yangiyul district of the Tashkent region was caught in the act of accepting a bribe of $24,000 from the convict N.N., promising to reduce the prison term of a convict sentenced to 8 years and 5 months imprisonment under Articles 103 and 112 of the Criminal Code through the possibilities of officials in the Tashkent city court.
During the operation, attorney and arbitration court judge IDs, as well as a copy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' order on his appointment, were found with him.
This officer worked in the internal affairs agencies until 2014 and has been practicing law since 2022. In April of this year, he was given another chance and reinstated to the internal affairs agencies. Unfortunately, within 2 months of being reinstated, this officer has once again committed corrupt actions.
Based on the materials presented concerning both cases, the Tashkent city prosecutor's office has initiated criminal cases under Part 4 of Article 168 and Part 3 of Articles 28 and 211 of the Criminal Code, and investigative actions are being carried out.
