Netflix has completed filming the movie titled "Tamerlane: Rise of the Last Conqueror" announced. This project, which started at the end of 2022, is dedicated to the life of Amir Temur and was filmed in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

“The film narrates about Amir Temur's rise to power and the legacy he left behind. The center of the filming process was Uzbekistan. We created the cinematic image of one of the most important historical figures right in the regions where he lived and fought. This filming process was very precious to us,” say the project authors.

Filming crew included specialists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and the USA. The director is Jacob Schwartz, the screenwriter is Matthew Green. The role of Amir Temur was played by Christian Mortensen, his rival Amir Husayn by Mahesh Jadu, and the wife of Aljai by Uzbek actress Yulduz Rajabova.

The team of stunt performers was led by the legendary Nomad Stunts team - with their help, they successfully brought to life horse attack and battle scenes.

“Working closely with Uzbek historians and scholars, we endeavored with our team to showcase the majesty of Central Asia through period-appropriate decorations and beautiful costumes,” say the members of the creative project team.

The filming was finished last fall, and it has now moved to the post-production stage. The premiere is expected to take place at the end of this summer.
