According to the Daily Mail, some popular beers sold in the USA have been found to contain PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) which may cause cancer. These substances are also known as “forever chemicals” and they accumulate in the body, posing a serious health risk. Researchers emphasize that even small amounts of these substances can have a harmful effect over a long period. They highlight this issue.
Scientists studied 23 types of beer and found dangerous levels of PFAS, the “forever chemical”, in 95 percent of them. This substance does not leave the body, and can cause cancer, infertility, kidney, and thyroid gland issues. Experts indicate that this substance enters beer during the manufacturing process, as many beer factories do not install special filters to save on costs.
