According to Germany's Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the United States will no longer limit the capability for long-range strikes in the weapons being supplied to Ukraine.
In his statement made in the autumn of 2024 as a candidate for the chancellorship of Germany, Merz had expressed his intention to issue ultimatums to Moscow. He announced his plan to demand Russia to cease military actions, warning that if this was refused, he would supply Kiev with Taurus cruise missiles and lift the ban on using long-range weapons to strike within Russian territory.
