On May 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Antonio Fernandes Arimany, the head of the International Triathlon Union, who was in the city of Samarkand within the framework of the World Cup in triathlon and paratriathlon. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.
Issues of further expanding practical cooperation with this prestigious global organization to popularize this type of sport and support the national triathlon school in Uzbekistan were discussed.
The rapid development of triathlon in our country was noted with satisfaction. The national federation is active, international competitions are regularly held, and Uzbek athletes are strengthening their positions in continental and world rankings.
Special attention was given to the development of cooperation in the training of athletes, coaches, judges, and sports managers, the creation of modern infrastructure, and the implementation of expert assistance programs.
