Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sharply reacted to the proposal made by Russia — to declare a two- or three-day local ceasefire in certain areas of the front to collect the bodies of soldiers killed in battle.

“They are offering a two or three-day ceasefire to collect the dead from the battlefield. In my opinion, this is nonsense. Ceasefires should be so that people do not die. They view it merely as a small pause in the warfare,” — said Zelensky.

In his view, this proposal openly reveals how Russia approaches the war: they do not value human life, they are just trying to buy time.

Zelensky called on the US to intensify sanctions against Russia.

“They do not understand otherwise. It is necessary to increase economic pressure to bring them to the level of understanding,” — emphasized the leader of Ukraine.
