A 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred along the southwestern coasts of Turkey. This was reported by the country's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

According to reports, the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Aegean Sea, 10.43 km away from the city of Marmaris. The focal depth of the earthquake was situated at 67.91 kilometers deep. Muğla Governor İdris Akbıyık mentioned that 34 people were injured after panicking and jumping from heights following the earthquake.

The total number of injuries is now reported to be 69. A 14-year-old child died due to panic caused by the earthquake.

A total of 55 people have applied to hospitals. 14 individuals refused to go to the hospital and were treated on site.

We remind you that a strong earthquake was recorded on April 23 of this year in Turkey's largest metropolis - Istanbul.

At that time, according to local media reports, the strength of tectonic movements reached 6.2 on the Richter scale.
