On May 5th this year, two girls fell into the Bo'rijar canal in Tashkent, and 43-year-old Abdumanop Samiqov, who jumped into the canal to rescue them, drowned and died. The late citizen and the girls were rescued by Nurmuhammad Mamasaliev, an employee of the “Bo'rijar” sports complex, who showed bravery and was awarded the “Courage” medal. This was announced today, June 3rd, by a presidential decree.

It is noted that the Head of State took this story of courage to heart, primarily expressing sympathy to the widow and children of the deceased.

“Two girls from the Yakkasaroy district fell into the canal. Seeing this, our brave and courageous compatriot, Abdumanop Samiqov, threw himself into the water to save the lives of the young girls. Unfortunately, a tragic event occurred – in this noble act, he heroically perished.

It turns out, this self-sacrifice was not in vain – Abdumanop Samiqov was always a person who did good to others, a patriot who was useful to his people.

This is another expression of the country's attention to valuing human dignity, respecting national heroes. In a strong and compassionate society, humanity is never forgotten,” wrote the President's press secretary.
