The Islamic Republic of Iran has fired several missiles at the Al-Udeid military base in Qatar, which is used by the USA. This was reported by “Axios” and “Reuters” publications, based on reliable sources.
During the night, the sound of explosions was heard in the sky over Doha, local time. According to witnesses, these sounds indicate that the air defense system—PVO—was activated.
According to “Axios”, Iran has launched a total of approximately 10 missiles. The majority of them targeted the USA's Al-Udeid base in Qatar.
As reported by “Ynet”, another missile was directed towards a US military base in Iraq.
Tehran explained the strikes as a response to the US's actions against Iran's “peaceful nuclear facilities”. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) described the situation as a “gross violation of international law”.
Against the backdrop of the attacks, a maximum state of combat readiness was declared at the US bases in Iraq. In addition, Qatar and the UAE have closed their airspace. This indicates a further escalation in the region.
The official US side has not yet commented on the event.
