"Zamin" Foundation's support has initiated the process of creating a digital registry for the trees of Tashkent city. This was reported by the Foundation's Press Service.

The specialists of the Ministry of Ecology and Digital Development Department of Tashkent city mayor's office, after undergoing training courses, practical work, and testing equipment in “field” conditions, have started to create an electronic database containing all information about the city's green areas.

The digital registry will maintain a complete inventory of trees, integrate it with urban planning and urban development, as well as with the information systems of the ministries and agencies responsible for land use, and help prevent the illegal felling of trees.

In the process, modern technologies including artificial intelligence, GPS devices, photo documentation, and tools for measuring green spaces will be used. After digitization and verification by dendrologists, the registry will provide the exact number, species, age, condition, and other important characteristics of the trees.

By the end of the year, it is planned to enter at least 1 million trees into the electronic database on the green.tashkent.uz platform.
