The mountainous town of Ruidoso in the state of New Mexico, USA, has been victim to heavy rain and floods. According to local authorities, the rainfall resulted in landslides, with bridges and homes being swept away.

At this moment, three people have been declared missing, and several citizens have been hospitalized. According to Ruidoso Mayor Lynn Crawford, before the floods, the river near the town was so small that one could even "jump over" it.

Interestingly, this town had suffered serious damage from catastrophic forest fires last year.

Meanwhile, the situation remains severe in the neighboring state of Texas, which is also battling with heavy rains. Official reports indicate that the number of fatalities due to floods has reached 109, nearly a third of them – children. Over 160 people are still missing.
