A teenage girl who attempted to jump from the roof of a multi-story building in Tashkent's Yakkasaroy district was rescued. This was reported by the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs press service.
According to reports, the minor climbed onto the roof section of one of the multi-story buildings intending to jump. A witness among the citizens pressed the "Anxiety Button" in the neighborhood, alerting the rescue service on duty of the Internal Affairs authorities. The local prevention inspector was also notified.
The neighborhood prevention inspector quickly arrived at the scene and climbed onto the roof. Meanwhile, law enforcement officers below monitored the situation while maintaining public order.
"When we arrived at the scene, the underage girl, approximately 15 years old, had climbed to the 9th floor with the intention of taking her own life," said Sanjar Bekmurodov, prevention inspector of the "Damarik" neighborhood.
He approached the girl through the balcony of another apartment on the 9th floor while she was in an aggressive and stressed state, leading to preventive conversations. The process of reaching her took about 25–30 minutes.
"While I held onto our underage sister with all my strength for 10–15 minutes, she resisted fiercely. However, I managed to keep my composure and successfully restrain her," added the prevention inspector.
The girl was safely brought down from the roof with the help of emergency service personnel using a rope. Afterward, she and the citizen involved underwent medical examinations, and specialists conducted psychological counseling sessions.
For reference, on the evening of July 22, a 23-year-old young man jumped from the 9th floor in Tashkent's Yunusabad district.
