European air travelers may soon see the restrictions on carrying liquids in hand luggage lifted. The European Commission plans to deploy equipment capable of scanning large containers at continental airports.

Current regulations prohibit carrying bottles larger than 100 ml in hand luggage, with exceptions for medicines and baby food.
