The European Union will lift restrictions on liquids in hand luggage at airports

New screening equipment allows passengers to carry large bottles in their hand luggage, but currently not at all airports.

European air travelers may soon see the restrictions on carrying liquids in hand luggage lifted. The European Commission plans to deploy equipment capable of scanning large containers at continental airports.

Current regulations prohibit carrying bottles larger than 100 ml in hand luggage, with exceptions for medicines and baby food.
