According to the "Na Svyazi" project's calculations, internet connectivity in Russia was disrupted at least 2,099 times in July 2025. This figure is significantly higher than the 69 disruptions recorded in May and 662 in June.
Typically, disruptions are partial, with internet working in some areas of a city while completely unavailable in others. However, in July, there were also cases of complete outages in the Krasnoyarsk region—some villages were without internet for up to 5 days.
According to the "Internet Protection Society," these disruptions caused economic losses of at least 25 billion rubles in July. Regional authorities, however, explained this as a security measure against drone attacks and advised residents to save cash.
Gleb Nikitin, the head of the Nizhny Novgorod region, called for a positive outlook on the situation—emphasizing that "this is an opportunity for a digital detox."
