A resident of the city of Kokand created a channel on the Telegram messenger in 2021, posting materials promoting extremist ideas and distributing them to the channel's 9 subscribers. This was reported by the D.uz National Security Service.
It was noted that he had contacted an instructor and media propagandist of the international terrorist organization "Katibat al-Tawhid wal-Jihad," currently operating in Syria, through the Instagram social network and had fallen under the influence of its propaganda.
Later, he engaged in audio and text correspondence about what needed to be done to wage jihad in Syria and expressed willingness to join the ranks of the terrorist group.
In turn, this individual formed a "community" among close acquaintances and classmates, calling on them to "migrate" to Syrian territory and join terrorist groups.
As a result of prompt measures taken by the National Security Service and other law enforcement agencies, his illegal activities were stopped.
Consequently, in criminal cases, the Furkat District Court found him guilty under Part 3, paragraph "g" of Article 244-1, and Part 1 of Article 244-2 of the Criminal Code for committing the crimes specified therein, sentencing him to 6 years of imprisonment.
